Moderate Reminder - Wednesday, 23 March 2011
Hello people, it's 2 weeks and 2 days to SYF. We won't know exactly how you are feeling. However, on the actual day itself, one of the most crucial thing is to be confident. Something self-explanatory, a vicious cycle - 1 player inconfident-->can't concentrate-->play wrong stuff-->other players who realised will have the "oh man! gameover!" mindset-->confidence goes down-->can't focus-->play even more wrong stuff. And the cycle will just keep on going and going, until everything really is "gameover". Hence, no matter what you do, be confident. And also, if you missed a note or made a mistake, it is normal to have "oh shit" in your mind, but please don't get discouraged and stop playing throughout, neither do you go back to where you missed.
Again, there is still time to practice. As mentioned in paragraph 1, don't get discouraged or anything. It is just like you going to a public toilet to pass motion. And when you're done, you realise there's no toilet paper. Surely you can't just remain there all day. Practice, practice and practice! Make sure you know whether there's toilet paper or not before enterring a cubicle. Otherwise it'll be too late, whether audiences or any outsiders know that when we get bronze and below, they'll know we sound like faeces, like what Mr Leung formerly mentioned. I'm not putting any other bands down though. Therefore, be sure to practice, again and again. Keep going whether there's hope left or not. Make sure there's still that small packet of tissue with you when you realise there's no toilet paper in that particular cubicle. Another thing, let's aim even higher, for a GWH! "Aim for the moon, for even if you fail to reach it, you'll land among the stars!" - Unknown(I forgot who the author is).
Anyone's still having problems with memories, too bad having a recording of it prior to SYF is kinda illegal if I'm not wrong. However, Satoshi Yagisawa also composed other concert marches. I hope these links can help. All three links is a concert march entitled "March 'Willing and Able'". Even though it's obviously different from Memories, there are still some similar parts, similar pick ups, similar slow marches, etc. Do try to pick them up as you listen.

Some of us dislike or even hate MOF. But please do perservere, jus for another 2 weeks and 2 days. I know love can't be forced but change your mentality towards MOF if you have a negative 1 towards it. And again, it's a vicious cycle. In fact, this vicious cycle is present in our studies too. Eg: Dislike/hate/detest Maths-->study less-->get bad results-->dislike/hate/detest Maths even more. Same thing for this. Just in case anyone doesn't know or forgot, the band room can be opened on non-cca days for practice. If anyone isn't opening, then go to the teachers or Amanda, and get the key. Just a pinch out of us all are doing so though. It is highly encouraged to do so, and give our 100% and above. Just for these 2 weeks and 2 days. If we do ever get bronze once again, our conscience should be clear, with no regrets. If you do have them, it'll only reflect your doings, conscience etc. Thank you for your time to read this, much obliged.
